ITWLabels Company Background
For the past 110 years, ITWLabels has been “Helping Companies Make Their Mark”
It all started in 1893 when inventor and entrepreneur, Andrew Jackson Bradley walked from his house to his paper cutting company in the St. Louis levee district. Steamboats sat high in the Mississippi River while trains sat empty. The levee was piled with cargo, boxes, parcels and crates that were being painstakingly hand addressed. Mr. Bradley knew there had to be a better way. Within a few months he invented the Long Bradley Stencil Cutting Machine, which was the first semi-automatic method of marking goods and containers for identification and shipment.
Over a century later, ITWLabels' mission reflects the same entrepreneurial spirit, "To Be the World's Leading Provider of Automated Product Identification Solutions". Today's products include automated labeling systems, patented ink jet printers, custom labels and stencil cutting machines, which still satisfy customer's marking requirements around the globe.

Diagraph was a fourth generation family owned business until May of 2001 when ITW (Illinois Tool Works) acquired Diagraph. At this time the company was separated into three business units.
